Secret Garden is unique in the yard, it is east facing with an uninterrupted view across the river basin and is nestled in its own garden space. As the only land accommodation it also boasts a fire pit and fuel is included in the holiday. It is just a quick 1 minute walk from your private parking space to the steps up to the entrance on the outside decking, which is a generous size, where you can sit and watch the world go by, whilst enjoying the best that the British weather can offer.

Secret Garden comes with your own private rowing boat, which you will be shown how to use, so you can explore the river basin and local river. If you want a longer river adventure why not try a SUP lesson, or a guided canoe tour? If you are feeling really adventurous then book your self drive boat for a day and explore the river all the way up to Oulton Broad.

Ready to Dine Al Fresco on Secret Garden

The first bedroom features a comfortable double bed, lovely for cuddling up in and listening to the sound of the wildlife lulling you to sleep. Bedroom two is ideal for children, who will be beside themselves with excitement with the prospect of sleeping in their own secret hideaway, (although adventurous grown ups can use it too). It has an L-shaped bunk bed which is both comfortable and inviting, whilst the room is stylish and bright.

The main living area is a generous size, with a lovely leather corner sofa, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple as you watch the day go to bed.  A smart television is positioned perfectly, in case the British weather lets you down or if you just fancy putting your feet up and relaxing in front of a movie. There is a Glamping kitchenette which has a microwave, a double electric hob and a small fridge. Enough for you to rustle up simple meals, and picnics to eat al fresco looking across the river basin as the sunsets behind you.

The bathroom has a refreshing shower where you can wash off the days adventures in comfort, and the whole pod is heated using electric wall heaters. If you would like to spend time on the river having your own adventures and you want to take the headache out of planning, then add  one of our Sparrows and Amazons experience packages when you book. (In peak season these will need a 4 week lead time to ensure all experiences are available).

The use of a rowing boat is included in your stay, and for those with a sailors heart you can borrow a basic sail pack for an afternoon and give sailing a go.

Eco Hot Tub Experience

A new addition to Secret Garden is a Swedish eco wood fired hot tub. This is an experience to help you relax and unwind. When you arrive the hot tub will be empty, and your first part of the experience is to set the hose to fill the tub nearly to the top. Many guests like to prepare an alfresco dinner to have while the sun is setting, giving time for the tub to fill, or some just sit and relax. Once it is full, it’s time to light the fire and put the thermal top on, and then let the fire heat the water through. Often guests sit and have a cup of coffee whilst the water heats up. As soon as its ready, step in and relax, watching the local wildlife and the beautiful skies.

The hot tub is included, we provide you with a foot basin (so you can rinse the grass etc off your feet before getting in), wood, firelighters, matches and plastic glasses to use in and around the hot tub. Once your wood runs out you can have an additional pack of wood at a cost of £5.

Secret Garden welcomes well behaved pets.
